Memeos

Some may argue that memes have been around for many many many decades. that is depending on the individuals definition of a meme. Others may say that it started in the mid 90s with the dancing baby but the majority would agree that memes came to light around the time instagram launched back in 2010. For my graduation portfolio I tasked myself to create an app that can not only generate memes but that can enable one to create a meme from any streamable movie.

As a society we have adapted to expressing ourselves not so much through words but through visual instances. So much so that now we have people becoming famous of those captured moments. While watching a show or movie id find myself saying FACTS, or BIG MOOD as i’m sure many of you have. The issue I’ve come across is that I would spend quite a bit of time searching and searching for the visuals that represent exactly how I feel, so one would have to settle for the closest one possible thats all ready circulating in the internet. Not very representational especially when you have a specific scene in mind. Experiencing this struggle time and time again i thought

“How great would it be if when watching a relatable movie scene or remembering a scene from a film you had the ability to cut edit and add text to the exact scene”

thats what Memeos came to be. An app that allows the user to link existing free and paid streaming services so one can express exactly how they feel through scenes in movies and show.

Looking back at this concept i still see great potential in its ideation.
